9/26 Excursion Day - Part 1

Part 1 - Otherwise known as "VIEW FROM A BUS"...there's always a day where the Congress puts willing attendees on a bus and sends them somewhere historic...this year it was to Aachen...rather a wet, dreary day, but at least we were with friends! And the views from the bus was an interesting mixture of new-old, and green...

9/25 Day of Rest

7:30 Get up, have breakfast together




8:00 Dave off to lectures, Jo goes back to bed for 3-hour nap




11:00 Jo gets up, gets redressed, goes out and has lunch at favorite restaurant in Maastricht (Chinese, run by the  Choy family -  http://www.lachine.nl/ - best corn chicken chowder ever and egg rolls the size of meat pies...)


1:00 Jo goes back to hotel and watches BBC television while doing laundry and reading

5:00 Dave comes back, we both go out and meet friends for dinner

10:00 we pumpkin out and hit the sack

restful restful day!

9/24 Opening of Congress

which basically means friends, sitting through speeches, a break for coffee and window shopping on the way back to the hotel while Dave is still at the conference sitting through more lectures...

9/23 Race Day

Who knew an International World Championship Cycling Race would be starting a half-block from our hotel?  Not us!!
 

 


After the start of the race, it was back to art and churches...
