December

'Tis the season - of potlucks and receptions and luncheons - all to be followed by a nice quiet 4day weekend-3day workweek-4day weekend!

Thankfully, Haidee had her camera (all the pics are by her [or Bill with her camera]), so I have pictures from the departments' luncheon to show...for some reason, I just didn't even think of bringing my camera - maybe I do need a rest...

Our department officially split off earlier this year and became the Department of Biophysics, but we still celebrated with our family in Biochemistry!

It was a great lunch - and I'd be happy to return to that restaurant any time!

So, this year - Happy Holidays from the Admin staff of the now official Department of Biophysics!

May you and yours have a safe and blessed holiday season!

11/10 Tyler

Dave had a lecture in Tyler, so I decided to go with him...another gorgeous day...we stopped for lunch in downtown Tyler at a really good Mexican restaurant...

His lecture went really well...
and, after a quick stop at the quilt store, it was a beautiful ride back home...

11/1-11/4

Once again, I drove down to New Braunfels to help at the department retreat...
but the best part, I got to meet up with my friend Connie, who recently moved here to build a house..

the porch is 10feet deep and wraps around two sides and I think the house is going to be awesome...and it doesn't hurt that it's in a beautiful location...

The weather was absolutely gorgeous...and everywhere the butterflies were out and about and flowers were blooming

The highlight of the day (other than visiting with Connie...) was going to the Old Oaks Ranch...the ranch part, with Alpacas, was okay - but the shop was definitely a not-to-be-missed location!

Needless to say...my visit there was VERY successful...
and their garden was also not to be missed-

and I haven't even posted any of the art - wonderful metal and stone sculptures and a waterfall that I'm tempted to duplicate in our yard...

As much fun as I had, I'm always happy to see Austin on my left ('cause that means I'm headed North!)...
