Peterskirk is the church where Dave's great-grandfather was baptised...

 

Truly such a great city to just wander around...

 





9/30 Sunday part 2 + 10/1 Monday part 1

After lunch we were able to get into the Holy Spirit Church (where Dave's great-great-grandfather was baptised)...

Afterwards, we grabbed some dinner and went back to the hotel..

10/1 Monday - part 1

After breakfast, we walked around looking for more addresses of where ancestors lived...and enjoyed the sights as we went...

...and the day improved greatly when we came across a small chocolatier's shop!

...we walked some more while we waited for St. Peter's to be open...

9/30 - Sunday in Heidelberg-part 1

Of course, it being Sunday, we knew we couldn't get into the churches until at least afternoon...we already knew where Holy Ghost was, but we needed to find St. Peter's...which actually was only a couple of blocks from our hotel...and right across the street from the University's library...

and then we wandered around ...

 

...we found the Jesuit church around the corner from St. Peter's...great statues....

Eventually we found the street where Dave's great-great-great grandfather lived...and there's still an address there!

...more in next post...we packed a lot into that first full day!

9/29 - Back on a Train...

From Maastricht to Heidelberg, Germany...so...more views from a train...

Got to Heidelberg and the first things we see are pieces of art...

 

...with just enough time to find our hotel and then go back out and find some dinner...

Next up...details of things we saw while looking for locations of where Dave's genealogy led us....
