9/28 Final Day in the Netherlands

I spent part of the day at the market in the Square - definitely took self-control!  and a lot of muttering "no room in the luggage...no room in the luggage...:...

 

then we all, once again, piled onto the bus and went to the final banquet in another castle - we only got to eat outside the wine cellar this time...no tour...and Dave and I failed to have our picture taken together...oh well...too bad, too sad....



Tomorrow - Dave & I take the train to Heidelberg!

9/27 Thursday - Dave's Lecture Day

I took Thursday morning easy and then joined friends for lunch.  After lunch was Darcy's lecture...

and then there was Dave's...he did such a good job...

 

 

 

 

 

While Dave was talking to people after the lecture, I became fascinated with the arrangement they had in front of the podium - I thought it was stunning...

 

 

Then we joined friends for dinner and called it a day... 

now...where is that restaurant????

 



9/26 Excursion Day - part 6

 

Okay - this was more what you'd expect in a castle, but still less than what I've seen in France and Italy.  Still - it had it's moments...

 

 

Actually, I preferred the outside with the scummy lotus-infested moat with ducks and geese...

 

And then it was back on the bus and back to Maastricht...

and so we ended the night with dinner with friends and enjoyed beef, rabbit, shrimp and split-peas...(these are the obligatory food photos for my foodie friends....) -
