April 2018

I certainly left the house more often in April!

And I mean more than physical therapy twice per week...

Dave took me to get a haircut - amazing how much better that can make you feel...

And he also took me to Quilt Guild - he's been proclaimed a "keeper" by my friends!

My friend Reid came by and picked me up for Fiber Fest - so much fun! So much shopping!

It was great to get out, see so much eye candy and visit with friends...
found a new tee-shirt...
visited with my friend, Michael, who was
demonstrating silk worm farming and spinning
found mugs for friends and myself...
and a small hand-turned pin bowl
and, of course, FIBER!!
A few days later, Val came to pick me up and we joined our friend Vicki for lunch and then we went to the Tulip Farm...a little breezy, but beautiful...

Later in the month, Val picked me up and off we went to DAFA -

Fun meeting - we practiced the blanket stitch, made paper beads...
 ...felt beads...

and played around with tubes of fabric

Later in the week, I finished off my tubes into a necklace...

and the felt beads into earrings and a pin...

And, as always...Mr. R was there to supervise and amuse...
how can that be comfortable??

March 2019

March was much better even with the shoulder pain.  Mainly because I started leaving the house both for my mental health and for physical therapy.

First place was to see Reid at her booth at Urban Art...

Then Joe (Appleton) and his significant other, Amy, stopped by on a visit on their way to moving to Puerto Rico...so we went out for lunch at our favorite Mediterranean restaurant.  It was such a pleasure to see Joe and to meet Amy and get to visit for a while.

The best part of physical therapy is getting to eat lunch out afterwards -

Unfortunately, we experienced a flat on the way home after PT one day - I suppose that's why we have Roadside Assistance...
Not a simple fix, it seems - here they are looking for the lugnut key...
which wasn't to be found anywhere - ended up having to tow it to the dealer (fortunately just down the road)...where they replaced the tire and the key!

Dave was sweet enough to take me to the Dallas Quilt Show where I got to see some great quilts and visit with friends...

And by the end of the month I was able to start knitting again - so good for my mental health!

Val drove us to the monthly DAFA meeting, which was also good for mental health...

Another perk of PT was getting to see some more of UT's Asian art collection...

and Mr. R was his usual too-cute self...

A much better month overall!

February 2019

There was no my leaving the house during February...I spent the entire month sitting on the couch or in bed, icing my shoulder, watching Netflix, sleeping and petting the dog...

By the end of the month, I was able to take my brace off for a couple of hours at the time...so, naturally I tried stitching...

I could only do ten stitches at the time before resting my arm for ten or so minutes, but it was better than nothing!

Thank heavens for my spouse, Netflix, and my dog!

Mr. R obviously thought it would help by laying on me...ALL of the time....
