Memorial Day

We celebrated Memorial Day at Oakwood Cemetery in Fort Worth - Dave was participating as a member of the Sons of Union Veterans and I tagged along to take pictures...

The ceremony was nice and pleasantly short...

The Sons of Union Veterans weren't alone in showing their appreciation:

and the battery salute was loud and proud:

Afterwards, they packed up and we all went to a local restaurant for lunch!



It was nice to spend a not-too-hot, not-too-rainy day honoring our veterans from all wars and sending up a prayer for those still in uniform.

Guess who...

has decided that one of the side chairs is a good place to nest while we are at work?

Last symposium...

Friday, May 9th, saw my last Molecular Biophysics Symposium....

Where Amy and I sweated it outside...muggy and hot...
Ah..Spring in North Texas...

But the flowers at the Arboretum didn't seem to mind...

 

It was so nice to visit with students, postdocs and faculty.  AND they surprised me with the most beautiful plant and orchid arrangement...

I will have to work very hard and try not to kill it!

I'm not going to miss the job, but I am going to miss the people!
