which basically means friends, sitting through speeches, a break for coffee and window shopping on the way back to the hotel while Dave is still at the conference sitting through more lectures...
Who knew an International World Championship Cycling Race would be starting a half-block from our hotel? Not us!!
After the start of the race, it was back to art and churches...
ok...not art...but pretty!
this is art...
what a floor!
We had a nice, quiet long weekend - Dave diligently working on his lecture for the Congress and me finishing up the quilt top... uh...well...okay...my INTENTION was to get the quilt top put together and ready to quilt....
...and I DID...except
that this middle row didn't line up well and I didn't figure that out until the top was completely together and I laid it out on the living room floor to baste it to the batting/backing...it's the biggest top I've ever made and while it looked all lined up in my lap and at the machine, it wasn't. SO...I will be unstitching the rows and reassembling it this week and over the weekend.
That's the nice thing about ignoring deadlines...no pressure if you have to redo it to get it right...
