The day was spent quietly at home until we left to attend the memorial celebration at the Oddfellows Cemetary in Westlake, TX - The Sons of Union Veterans were participating (along with some re-enactors) in the dedication and unveiling of the headstones of two Civil War veterans who had been identified as having been interred there - it was a clear, hot day and the whole thing had a nice, small-town feel to it...
It was nice to see both sides represented by the re-enactors with their artillary:
The speeches were long (but heart-felt)...

The bicycle parade was sweet...

The Boy Scouts were professional and "Taps" was poignant (especially since Pvt. Johnson was leaving for Advanced Infantry Training this week...)...

It was great to have such a nice group of the SUV there and it's nice that the headstones have been put in place...

All in all...a nice memorial to those who have fallen in battle...
